The criteria for access to a retirement pension vary depending on the computing system with which treatment will be paid.
Pensions paid under the pay system and the mixed system
the retirement pension can be accessed with the following requirements, valid until December 31, 2011:
65 years for men and 61 for women, along with 20 years of retirement contributions or service.
To those in retirement pay to the holder of 31 December 1992, that the exemption for which you can retire with 15 years of contributions (as defined in Article 2 of Decree 503 of 1992).
Pensions paid under the contribution system
As of January 1, 2008 There are four cases in which you can access to treatment, with the following requirements:
  • have turned 65 and have at least 5 years of contributions;
  • have completed 61 years and have at least 5 years of contributions for women provided the amount to be paid not less than 1.2 times the amount of social
  • having gained 40 years of contributions, regardless of age;
  • have at least 35 years of contributions and have made age equal to that provided for the retirement pension (see new rules on old-age pension).

retains the right to a pension from previous requirements of those who have vested by December 31, 2007 the requirements of age and seniority pay under the previous legislation (having completed 57 years of age along with 5 years of pension contributions in an amount of not less than 1.2 the amount of ' social allowance).
News from January 1, 2011 (Act July 30, 2010, n. 122)
Article. 12 of Decree Law 78 converted into Law 122/2010 provides for new means of access to retirement: the pension is allowed access to the expiration of 12 months from the vesting requirements (so-called floating window).

The new provision will apply to those who fulfills the minimum requirements from the first January 2011 (see Commencement )
In particular, for women the provisions of the Act shall, for the year 2011, the requirement of the ages of 61 years to enter retirement age. This limit is increased to 65 years from January 1, 2012.
For the staff of the school division the preceding provisions shall remain in force (commencement of the board from September 1 for those who are retired on August 31).
continue to apply the provisions of existing laws which provide for specific personal requirements higher (women judges, ambassadors, university professors). As for the staff women of the armed forces, including the Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza Corps, of the Police Force to civil order and the national fire brigade, the age limit is set at the completion of 60 years.
